Bright sun and dark clouds

A brilliant day today. It started off chilly, 5C in our camper in the morning, but we turned on the heating and the sun came up and the combination warmed things up quickly. The storm-tossed lake of yesterday was mirror calm.
After a leisurely breakfast we headed of towards the mountains. As we drove we saw a small sign pointing towards a path leading to a meteorite crater. That didn’t seem to be something one could ignore so we parked and walked a short distance through the forest, finding a 5 meter deep hole, about 45 m in diameter. The meteorite fell about 2000 years ago.
We continued driving, to a mountain car park and then walked across the fells to a cottage selling waffles. The picture today  was taken as we were walking back and bright sun broke through. These fells are very boggy in places so several sections of the path use plank walkways, which keep our feet dry, and protect the environment around the path.
As the afternoon wore on we drove up onto the Flatruet road. This is Sweden’s highest public road at 975 meters and we parked up in a lay-by very close to the treeline. We have wonderful views across kilometre wide marshes to distant mountains. The setting is fantastic and it was all topped off with one of those sunsets that seem to go on for hours with ever-changing layers of colours.
What a privilege to be able to drive up into such a place and experience all this beauty.
