Brilliant Autumn

Now evening is here and we are very tired after a shortish but tough walk in the mountains above Fjällness.
Yesterday night we’d gone to sleep after going out to admire the marvellous display of stars, created by the combination of cold clear air and a total lack of lights. We woke up to a landscape covered in frost and temperatures of -6C, but the rising sun quickly warmed the world.
We’d planned a walk up a waterfall and out across the open mountain. Today’s blip comes from the first section. The walk went very well until we started down, when the path turned steep and muddy. We then spent a lot of time dropping down and climbing back up. All this in a rather boring  fell birch wood.
Anyway, we were very pleased to arrive back at the camper and set about finding a place to camp. We found our spot about 500 m along a small track, on  what I am fairly certain was the original road over to Norway. We were only 4 km from the border. Tomorrow Norway, if they let us in.
