Mini Beenies

It was my mums birthday today and it was good to spend some time with her and my dad up at the Steading for a spot of lunch.

My mum doesn't keep the greatest of health these days and unfortunately the pain of the osteoporosis seems to be getting worse as the days pass.

She is very restricted to what she can do but there is also a stubbornness about her that keeps her going.

Knitting has always been great love of hers and for a good while now she has knitted "Beenie Hats" which a local charity would hand out to fishermen and others working on boats... and I think at the latest count she had reached 500!!

However as a result of the Covid Restrictions, she has now turned her attention to making "mini Beenies" for premature babies.

Apparently there are not enough to go round so a shout has gone out (from another charity I believe) for those who can, to make them!!

It's wonderful that despite the fact that she is in constant pain she can still do something that makes a difference in people's lives!!
