Pictorial blethers

All change!

From west to east, from a small church last evening with our choir to a huge church and the Dunedin Consort this evening. We came out of the mist hanging low over Dunoon, emerged into sunshine in mid-Firth, and then drove through more mist to what turned out to be sunshine on Leith … or at least Newhaven Harbour, where we had a very late lunch in the Loch Fyne.

We’re staying with #1 son in Murrayfield, where we had time for a brief crash with tea before driving to Haddington for a simply wonderful concert of Monteverdi and contemporaries. The Dunedin Consort were stellar - six singers, two violins, two theorboes and a harpsichord. The venue was St Mary’s Parish Church (eg C of S) , an ancient and magnificent building with a hugely long nave, which is the blip today, taken as we went in. We were all sitting in pods of one or two, and I have to say it didn’t feel like a superspreader event despite the size of the audience.

I can’t bear to write any more on my phone - I may return with the odd link. But it was utterly joyous to be at live music-making again.
