The chaps

After that lovely concert, we haven’t gone home yet - because we need to see our chaps. This photo shows three of them - two grandsons and one of the two cats (This one is Oreo: Arthur has been much less forthcoming.)

And so it was that today we found ourselves spending an insane amount of dosh on ourselves, as we headed down to Leith and Tiso’s outdoor shop. All this geographically restricted pandemic exercise seems to have created an urgent need for new trainers ( road walking inflicts terrible wear on the heels of shoes ) And then there were the half-price fleeces …

But this evening we ended with our grandsons. In fact, we’ve just been sitting in their games room, where the younger one was flying a flight simulator over the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas because we’ve stayed there. Meanwhile his big brother, complete with microphone on his headset, was involved in an obscure online battle along with his old friends from London, issuing terse commands on this and that detail, in an utterly convincing adult voice …

But now it’s time for bed. I’m texting nonsense on my phone, and sleep calls. I hope I get back to being a better visitor to other journals soon - till then, I crave forgiveness.
