Planning ahead

Never too early to enjoy the idea of planting seeds next year. I have many packets of seeds squirrelled away for sowing next spring. Although the garden still has a bit of colour it's impossible to pretend that it's not the end of summer. Time to reflect on what worked and what was less successful and, a harder task, to work out why.

We had such a lot of fun yesterday evening. A party in a shop is an exciting concept. We were well treated by the staff and they gave the impression of enjoying it as much as we did.

Today my sister and BiL are visiting our uncle. He is the last of his generation in the family. He is about to be 85 and seems in good health, still active and involved with many projects. I'll get a full report when they return.

This evening we'll sit in the garden with some friends, one of whom also had a big birthday this month. Then we'll have a simple meal and an early night. We need all our strength of the big party tomorrow.
