County Fair

Our county schools were closed today so that the children could go to the fair. All rides were just $1 until 5 pm. We ran into lots of neighbors and friends and had fun visiting the exhibits. Next year, maybe I will enter the photography competition.
This Civil War re-enactors exhibit especially intrigued our grandson. He was fascinated with the display and enjoyed a lively discussion with the re-enactor about the various weapons used during the war.
Unfortunately, they are Confederate re-enactors. As we were learning about the canon, a member of the group told us that they are no longer welcome to perform at many of the places where they used to teach about the history of the southern soldiers. It was interesting to hear that point of view. Hopefully, they can find a way to fit their story into the larger picture.
Extra is of my two guys on the tilt a whirl ride.
