Thirty No More

Party favours

We spent an age in the run up to Christmas buying Lego Minifigure bags (series 8) in a vain attempt to acquire a Santa.

I eventually acquired one by swapping with a nerd at work.

Anyway Ciarán got quite fond of the whole mystery lego bag thing, and we are now on Series 9 (having a few older ones as well).

So with his Birthday rapidly approaching I decided that instead of having the usual tat that you frequently get in the party bags, everyone would get a lego minifigure (along with all the sweets of course).

So 30 children can go to his party (a softplay place called appropriately Mayhem!), so in preparation I was all ready to order 30 bags from John Lewis. However ordered one more took us into free delivery territory - and made it cheaper.

So 31 ordered.

Now into Ciarán's dilemma.

I have told him they are for the party, but he can have any that are left over.

So what's best. More friends coming to his party, or less friends and more minifigures for him?

Either way he will be getting at least 2; probably a lot more. I wonder what the chances are of getting another Santa in the end?

In other news, John is not well :( It's coming out both ends and he just wants to sleep and be held.

Not taking him to nursery tomorrow (which is the root cause of the problem, as if someother parent had kept their sick child off then it may not have spread so far!), but I'm supposed to be off to London with Ciarán on Tuesday and Urs has an exam that day.

The joys of parenthood.

We have gone through less clothes today than we did yesterday, so I think just try the formula tomorrow (which we had virtually weaned him off - having been down to one bottle at bedtime for a good few months).
