Onward

The wind had dropped off overnight but got up again in the morning. The plan was for the boys to pack and shower while I took the boat back to the mooring. The difficult part of the plan was going to pick up the buoy in a gusty wind on my tod with a short boathook as it was no longer extending. Despite having an engineer aboard for the best part of a week, it still wouldn’t extend. But guess what - that lovely chandlery at Ardfern had them in stock. And Ardfern, that most expensive and exclusive of marinas (right?) had them priced at £19.95! Bargain.
So, soon, after a drenching and a baguette at Lucy’s we were on that bus to Oban and then train onward. Christ, what an awful train. Packed. Talking of travelling - much excitement as it looked like restrictions were easing for international jaunts, dispensing with some pricey testing stuff. I should have known, it’s not going to apply up here. Oh well, I saved a bob or two on the boathook.
