Spot the dog

Gece, our community dog - belongs to no one, lives with everyone, gets dinner where she can - often from me. Her chosen profession is to guard the carpark, a duty she takes very seriously.  Unfortunately she has also in the last couple of days expanded her role to include being my escort when I walk to the nearest bakkal (general store) for emergency supplies (bread and beer) and I really don't like it because the final 100 yards is a very busy road which must be crossed to get to the shop, and Gece, like so many street dogs here, for some unfathomable reason, runs straight in to the road to bark at the oncoming traffic.  I fear for her life as she stops only inches away from the speeding trucks who wouldn't be able to brake, even if they wanted to. Today I tried sneaking out when she wasn't around, but she has some kind of sixth sense and found me, as you can see from today's collage. However, we are both home safely now for me to tell the tale and drink the beer at the end of an otherwise super quiet day that started with an enjoyable two hours online tutoring, and later included a quick swim and some sun sitting in the gorgeous September super warm late afternoon sunshine.
