Day 5: Pennard to Mumbles

Today is our final day walking the Gower section of the Wales Coastal Path and the weather was wonderful. Well relatively!

We ended up on the Mumbles reputed to be the gateway to the Gower and the best place to live in Wales according to a recent survey by Sunday Times(?).
No one is specific about the origin of the name which is possibly a derivative of Welsh, old English, Scandinavian, Latin.... no one really appears to know.

The one I like is that the area is famous for its 20 plus pubs and the challenge of local uni students to drink a half pint in each and stay standing .... but mumbling allowed. A more famous participant was Dylan Thomas who also spent many happy hours here at the Mermaid... and mumbled

Picture today’s shows Mrs UE mumbling on how long it takes me to take a simple picture.

Note Wales Coastal Walk sticker showing ‘I was there’.
