Edale

Moved to a new site this afternoon after a leisurely morning having breakfast and emptying the toilet :). We traveled with a brief stop in Buxton to Edale which is situated at the very start of the Pennine Way and brought back memories of my childhood as we visited the Blue John Mines right here back then. The photo is the view from our van and this area boasts some of the Peak District’s famous locations including Kinder Scout. Driving the van on the roads into the site was like riding a roller coaster so that was fun! Went immediately to the Nags Head Inn and enjoyed a late lunch in the beer garden then sat inside in a room which used to be a morgue and was 400 years old. Leyna has a traditional roast dinner and I had a home made beef and potato pie - we both followed with Bakewell tart and custard - this is the home of Bakewell Tart - the actual town of Bakewell is 18 miles away. Then it’s back to the van for Portuguese lesson and a much welcomed shower. Tomorrow we move on to the Manchester area and visits with family and friends.
