Saving For The Future

Some lovely warm light at the end of a hot day cast shadows and light patterns through the trees. I picked out these three seed pods and photographed them as a still life with light and shade giving them form.

I took three shots, each focused on one of the pods, with the aim of maybe stacking them to get them all sharp. But the lighting in the shots differed too dramatically because of the interval between taking them. Instead I chose the one that had focus on the pod in bright light.

As with all seeds, they are at the start of the next generation.
