A Short Hike

On a whim I took a short hike on the East Coast Trail North of Quidi Vidi. In less than 30 minutes the city was left behind and I could smell the sea air and almost feel the pounding surf below. The trail continues much further but at my turnaround point the view South is still spectacular: Cape Spear to the East, Quidi Vidi Village in the middle ground and Quidi Vidi (lake) and St. John's to the West.

Taken on an iPhone 4S with Photosynth and then cropped, tuned and sharpened in Snapseed on an iPad. The panorama stitching is not perfect but I am pleased with how the forced perspective captures the expansive view I enjoyed today.
