MIRROR

Doug Aitken's artwork, "Mirror", was unveiled at the Seattle Art Museum on a beautiful clear night tonight. 1st avenue was closed off for the "block party". There were food trucks, and tents for the Seattle symphony.(performances to Clapping Music, and In C, by Steve reich and Terry Riley) Only downside for H and me was having to stand, waiting for an extra half hour for the show to start because we were waiting for the strong SUN TO GO DOWN! (surely someone could have planned that better...) We saw Doug Aitken's work all over the exterior walls of MOMA in NYC some years ago, so it's pretty cool for Seattle to have this ever changing but permanent installation with video images of our NW landscape put together in surprising ways. Boats, Boeing, trains, mountains, highways, lots of nature.....water...
And small vertical lights to match going up the building.....
A few other views....

However, I've just been out for 4 nights in a row so I need to get under the covers with a book. Will catch up tomorrow...
Hope you all had a good weekend!!
