A Struggle -

but fun. That was our walk this morning.

We were keen to get away from the paths where the packed snow has become icy and treacherous so headed for the route along the top of Goit Stock woods which is often too muddy to use.

We were doing fine until the path, complete with foot prints disappeared. The snow has blown off the fields overnight and drifted along the wall creating huge drifts burying the path. This led to great hilarity as A and then D sank into the snow.

I managed to follow in their footsteps most of the time but, later, on the way back, both D and I were up to our thighs in the snow laughing and trying to pull each other out. We realised after that what appeared to be a slight gradient of snow was actually a drift completely covering a wall.

We got back quite exhausted but having had a great time.
