A Darker Shade

Crocus niveus, a strongly bicoloured form that is one of my favourites.   Large flowered and showy, it may lack some of the impact of the blousy colchicums also in flower now but it's an elegant thing nonetheless.   Another transported from the old garden and so far thriving here.   An extra pic looking along the 8 ft raised bed in the front garden, plenty of colour right now.

A second morning getting to know Jamie's new support worker.   A Marvel fan and he can cook too so they have things in common.   I emailed the Council to get Jamie registered for Council Tax although the full amount should be discounted through the CT Reduction Scheme.  I also had time to quietly do some prep for a talk I'm due to give in October.   A happy interruption when C passed with her dog Meg, stopping for an open window chat :-)

After brunch with Ruth I managed a long session repotting the bulbs, the job now 90% done.  Smaller pots today which are sorted more quickly.   A quick cooked tea with Ruth (Jamie spent the day at the flat) then the obligatory hour at work.  A stroll to the seafront with Meg awaits while I still have the strength.   An earlier night beckons after.
