Angle Shades

The Angle Shades moth is apparently widespread, though I've never seen one before.  It's a night-flyer and rests among fallen leaves during the day.  If MrHCB hadn't disturbed it while doing some deadheading, I'm sure we would never have spotted it.  It's quite small and I walked round searching for it before I finally realised it wasn't one of the dead leaves on the slate.
