Long Stone

I managed to persuade Mr DA and Hector to accompany me on a little jaunt to Mottistone today to see the Long Stone and its recumbent friend. They were originally at the eastern end of a Neolithic long barrow, therefore aligned to the sunrise. It's a beautiful spot, high up with far-reaching views, and has been a special place for millennia; also in the vicinity are Bronze Age barrows and an Iron Age enclosure.
