MonoMonday:"Many"...plaster defects to be repaired

A 120-year-old house needs frequent maintenance, and before retirement we admit that we probably should have had repairs done more promptly. Hence the roof replacement 2 years ago and our current work on the windows.

The worst plaster defect we have is the section in the thumbnail, where water was leaking through the roof more severely than we realised at first (this was one of our reasons for having the whole roof replaced although there were other minor leaks too).  Fortunately it's just in a walk-in cupboard in the attic so not too much of a problem. However there are also several cracks to be fixed elsewhere in the house before they get much worse - some of which were the consequence of all the banging of nails when the roof was done! (One job leads to another as Flanders and Swann used to sing in "'The gas man cometh"...!).

Although I like DIY, plastering is beyond me other than for very minor defects, so we called on the services of a builder who sent his plasterer today. However although the boss had inspected the jobs a while back, when the plasterer arrived he realised that the jobs would take 2 guys 2 days, not one guy one day as the boss had suggested. So no work happened today after all - it'll now start on Tuesday next week.

At least it gave me a "diary blip" on the right theme for the challenge. Many thanks to Majoayee for hosting.
