Wound up in Wexford

Harebells

Catching up a little, still back blipping, but at least it's earlier in the day.

With both R and G working and the boys at Förskola, despite showery weather we decided to get out for some fresh air.  A little browsing on the internet found a relatively local nature reserve, Skrylle.  R said it was pleasant, though a little "tame" for their taste.  We thought tame would be fine, and headed out there.

We parked by the restaurant at Skryllegården, and set off on a waymarked track.  The initial stretch was lovely, if a little damp, through woodland.  This was followed by a less inspiring trek along the side of some fishing lakes, and then up a track past a farm.  We found a board indicating that a slight deviation from the route would take us through a small reserve called Billebjer.  The path through here was anything but tame.  It was here I found the rather damp but photogenic harebells.

Once out of that reserve, the rest of the walk was rather a trudge, but at least the weather improved.  All in all, a decent 8.5 kilometre walk, after which we treated ourselves to a very nice meal in the restaurant.
