A Day Worth Recording

Patchwork

backblip

We're in Oxford for A's fund-raising evening of poems, stories and patchwork.  I'd been commissioned to take some photo's of the event for possible use on a CD cover.  It was an excellent event which raised a substantial sum for Freedom from Torture.

Given the overall UK weather situation, the weather was kind to us - not much more show during the day, and dry in the evening itself.

In the interval I took to opportunity to try and capture this mix of A's patchwork and the altar.  Irritatingly, as the light (photographically) in the hall was dire I'd set the ISO painfully high but omitted to bring it down for the static scene. Grr. Excuse the noise.

I used the wide angle lens and have deliberately left the quite wild perspective - I rather like it.

The venue was St Columba's URC in Oxford city centre.  Last time we were here was for the funeral of E's father.  The Vital Peeters' stained glass panel, given in his memory, still hangs in the entrance.
