Chestnuts

The woods on the hill behind the house are mainly plantation and a lot of them are deciduous and the latest wind and rain has brought down so many chestnuts, none quite fully formed.  Non native sweet chestnut are obviously thriving in this area as the two in my garden are crowding out the birch and walnut which I suspect were planted the same time.   I am waiting for them to fill out and ripen so I can start on my plan for chestnut cookery!  Of course they are hell to process.

Barn day and zoom day.
