Dropping In

The snow capped hills catching the morning sunshine peeped over the tree-line which lead to the Welsh valley floor, snow laden and beautiful. It was a captivating drive with the drifts and snow from the ploughs as high as the car in some places which was so very different from back home where we haven't any!

The wild red kites flew into Rhayader for miles swooping in, in their hundreds this afternoon and it was a truly magnificent sight to see. Their colours accentuated against the white snow and their sheer numbers coming so close was spectacular. This chap had come in for the food, circled over the hide whilst picking the meat from his talons and was eating on-the go! Right above my head!!

I've never accidentally bumped into a fellow blipper before so it was nice that we discovered that as we stood behind our cameras in the freezing cold and biting wind. It proved a great day out and am going to finish this off tomorrow.
