Solitary

Drove to Spain this morning (Mike can't drive outside of Portugal till his license is renewed), so he could look at our new water tank, to figure out where to build the platform for it. Up till now, we've been managing with a plastic box that Vizinho got us when we first moved onto the Land.

And then to Évora this afternoon to buy wood to make the linen cupboard we didn't find in IKEA, an extendable ladder, grass seed and soil to replace what the ants have eaten (wish me luck), padlocks, welding rods, cat food, and so on. I got left in the old part of town to develop photos of São Miguel to thank C&E for organising the trip, driving, cooking and all.

And then had some time to wander on my own and take photos, love it, and now, hard to choose, of course. Such a peaceful vibe at the end of the day, with musicians playing in the squares, pigeons perching, fountains flowing, old men on benches, couples sipping wine, and the sunlight on the cobbles.

Gratefuls:
- time to wander with a camera
- getting a duty phone call done (I'm not a keen telephoner)
- mooching in a bookshop, oh how I love that, whole lives, eras, countries, ideas I could enter into
