All Passion Spent?

A late afternoon cycle ride to Hursley, where  I spotted this Passiflora caerulea vine growing on the wall of a cottage. The fruits are edible but bland, unlike its relative, P edulis which, as its name suggests, is very tasty. However, P edulis is much more tender, and can only be grown in tropical or subtropical conditions, which is why we have to import the fruits.
