Cracking design

GTI Touch. I remember those stickers well. In the supremely uncool Meurthe-et-Moselle of the 80s. GTI Touch for sure, in rainbow colours. Plastered on souped up (from 63 hp to 65 hp) Renault 18s with home-made rear spoilers.

The few lucky bastards who owned a genuine 205 GTI were milking it. If they also had a shiny suits with shoulder pads, sky was the limit. Those were the days. When one could wear a gold chain over a blackturtle neck jumper without being laughed at. When mullets and gold ear loops (in the left ear) were cool. When night clubs had smoke machines, and DJs with echoey voices, and those eminently flattering UV black light bulbs that made your teeth glow white in the dark – and the dandruff on your padded shoulders...

Those were the days. When crimes against good taste went unpunished...

The mullet-and-moustache look is back. But this time there will be no amnesty.
