A very, very wet walk from the hut to Pooley Bridge via the far side of Ullswater, I can't remember when I've last been so, so wet. We found that we had an hour and a half to wait for a bus so went in the café and had a hot chocolate, which went some way to warming me up. We left pools of water under the table and on the bench seats, but they're probably used to it... did I mention how wet we all were?

This evening my pudding was given the thumbs up - Nigella's lemon polenta cake with creme fraiche.
