Sunrise from Calton Hill

When we saw that it would be clear first thing this morning, we decided that we would try and capture the sunrise from Calton Hill. However, we didn't anticipate that several others might have the same idea as us, turn up at the same time, and crowd our view. So I didn't capture an arty shot of the pink sky between the columns of the National Monument of Scotland, but instead Nelson's monument and Arthur's Seat in silhouette.

After our walk, I settled down to a day of work that comprised email, reviewing, online meetings, and the first of a couple of conference submissions for an event next February.

Caitlin came round for dinner and games this evening and beat us twice at Catan. (Paddy is away with work. He has been sending us photos on and off all day - of Orkney.)

Exercise today: walking (11,205 steps).
