Sun, mostly

The sun and I were both delighted to welcome Firstborn from Bristol (via Eindhoven and Amsterdam) today. I'd even made a tarte au soleil for lunch. We had a full-on day, preparing food, collecting windfall apples in Aston's Eyot, preparing more food, going to meet the Spaniards whose walk from Zaragoza to Glasgow for COP26 brought them into Oxford at sunset this evening, and finally eating some of the prepared food. It was long after dark that I remembered I needed to bring in the sun-dried washing.

One apple tree in Aston's Eyot was host to some curious translucent jelly-like substance that I have never seen before and can't find online. Two pictures in extras. Any ideas?
