Shell Collection

Occasionally it happens that, once you see something which you had not paid attention to before, then you see that something everywhere. So it was with a tiny shell I spotted wedged between two rocks. When I say tiny, it was less than 1/2" across.

I felt its position made the shell seem very vulnerable as though it might be crushed should the rocks move. It looks as though the occupant has departed. Although I was at minimum focus distance, and I could have cropped in further, I liked that the shell was so small in the frame.

I never had a shell collection as a child, so I made up for that today.
