A fungus among us

I've passed by this most interesting fungus many times on my travels to and from the library and today it finally made it onto Blip. Any fungus experts out there who can identify it? There are more photos here, including one of the stump on which it resides.

EDIT: I think I just answered my own question. It appears to be a turkey tail mushroom, which shows some promise in fighting cancer!
