Last Full Day in Portugal

A great day, but sad that our time with these two wonderful people has to draw to a close again. This photo taken early morning as the sun rose over their land here. It has been a most enjoyable stay in our trip over here and Mike and Daveen’s hospitality is the main reason. In keeping with their treating us to Alentejano treats, we were taken to a really great restaurant Corte Velha (Old Court) see bgleyna’s blip for photo of them at the restaurant, showing and eating a delicacy of the region which is fried Mesentery (Intestinal wall mambrane) which was surprisingly delicious. This was followed by cockles in a white sauce and razor clams, black pig pork and.another regional specialty made from bread called Migas. The extra is of the Roman temple at Evora at night where we spent the evening and finished up at the late showing of No Time To Die - after 2 years it seemed strange sitting in a cinema - even stranger when everyone in there looks like they are about to perform surgery on their popcorn rather than eat it. But with around 90% of the population vaccinated, they are also still being cautious with mask wearing in all indoor public places. Great week in Portugal - thanks M&D
