Last Lunch

Writing this as I ride back from watching the new James Bond film at the cinema in Evora. Hero Mike is doing the driving again!
The day started with a long leisurely breakfast with worthwhile discussions, followed by a superb lunch at Corte Velha Restaurant in Amareleja - a town about 20 minutes drive.
Points to notice on the table are the “Talego” - a cloth bag for Bread, which is commonly served with the meal. This keeps it warm and stops it drying out.
“Torresmo” - the appetizer that Daveen is holding up is Crispy fried Mesentery - like Pork Scratchings. The tapenade made with local olives was delicious too.
Following that we had a Seafood course with lots of shellfish, which I enjoyed the sauces they were cooked in, soaked up with the lovely fresh bread.
Then we shared a meat course with a typical local dish of Migas with pork and a smoked cod - all of it very classic, local and delicious!
Home again for a heavenly nap in a hammock in the shade with a cuddly kitten on me.
Then off to Evora for the evening’s entertainment.
Tomorrow we are packing up the Duke and heading back to the UK via ferry this time.
