Moor burning near to Portree

A little late inn the season for this I would judge. It is often carried out during Februaryu and early March because it is believed that by burning new shoots of heater are encouraged and these are fed on by sheep and deer.
However by leaving it late there is a danger of destroying nesting sdites on ground nesting birds.
