a lifetime burning

Autumn Rose

Cathy and I set off for lunch at a pub in a neighbouring village this morning, only to find when we got there that their garden was fully booked and there was not a table to be had.  So instead we walked back and went for lunch at a local pub garden instead.  It was very pleasant sitting in the warm autumnal sunshine even if it wasn't our ideal choice of venue.

In the meantime in the garden the roses on the fence are still just about clinging on, its their final flush for the year.
