Bannockburn House

Today I visited Bannockburn house, a 17th century A listed mansion house on the outskirts of Stirling, for the first time.

In 2017 it was subject of the largest community buy out in the UK and is now owned by a trust of volunteers.
.
Their task is to turn this semi derelict building into a community hub, arts and crafts section along with a café, workshops, and extensive gardens.

To say this is an ambitious project would be an understatement but it does reflect the dedication of enthusiastic volunteers.

The house had close links with Bonnie Prince Charles who spent time there.

Now it organises regular community events and this weekend it was hosting a series of small exhibition by local artists.

Thanks to Marlieske for hosting this weeks Derelict challenge.
