Tax penalty

It is always a pleasure to visit the Japanese garden in Dollar if only to sample their delicious food. 
We needed it today after I received a penalty  tax letter informing me that I owed £1,340.8p for not paying a tax bill. Normally I pay around £1.50 tax a year and according to my records I have paid it.
 
I have written to them, having failed to get their website to work, or get anyone to answer the phone making it clear that paying over a £1,000 fine penalty is a non-starter, and I would rather go to jail.  
 
I await their response. Watch this space.
