Italian Arum Lily Berries

Although it has been much colder today the woodland and walled garden at Cambo Estate are well protected and there are still plenty of flowers and colourful leaves. Not a butterfly to be seen but there are still plenty of hover flies, wasps and bees flitting from flower to flower.

These vibrant red berries were growing out in the woodland garden almost entirely hidden by the leaves of other plants.
Although the berries look attractive they are toxic and as well as burning the inside of your mouth they cause a seriously upset stomach ….. I’ll give them a miss,
