Afternoon Delight

Catching sight of this female common darter against the light I ran/jogged in hot pursuit till it settled near the floor to bask in the late afternoon sunshine. The only way forward was to hit the deck and sprawl full length in the field with the dogs thinking at first this was a huge game as I crawled into position. They are both of them well aware not to get in front of the lens and sat by my head patiently waiting.
