romancing the stone

It was today, not yesterday, which was the short one - a walk of 10.85 miles from Santa Marinã to O Logoso. Up and down the gentle green hills and farmland which looked so much like Dumfries and Galloway on a hot day.

We are staying at the albergue and were surprised at the speed at which the "Pilgrims' Menu" was served this evening- we had finished eating by just after 8pm. These menus are always very good value - 3 courses with a drink for 10€.

We went out for short walks before and after our meal - the first one was to see the famous "Pedra Cabalgada" a huge balanced rock formation. The view was wonderful from up here and the sun was hot.

Today is the National Day of Spain, but it hasn't affected us in any way - life here in Galicia seemed to continue as usual.

Tomorrow we have a longer day's walk to Finisterre, so will be getting up early. I'm really behind on commenting, for which I apologise, but hope you will understand why.
