Yawn

Another fungus shot - no! Actually I am referring to the shape of the knot in the tree which looks somewhat like a mouth yawning, or possibly chomping down on the fungus.

I had to point the camera upwards at quite a steep angle because the features are at possibly twice my height. Consequently there was a lot more light on the upper surfaces even though it was cloudy. A few gradient filters when editing balanced things up a bit.

The colour is quite striking.
