Rubin Stairs

Tried another new approach in this 24 by 30 inch painting. I drew some shapes loosely based on the extra photo of the amazing staircase in the Rubin Museum in Manhattan. Shelly and I visited there in March 2020 and got the grand tour by Elke, my son’s partner and marketing director of the museum. What a cool place, the art and the building. It’s the old Barney’s building and the stairs are very very cool. For a stair freak like me they were fantastic. So I took lots of photos. My recent abstract paintings have not been based on anything real. This time I decided to start with some patterns that interest me.
