Tiny Tuesday ...

... Eastern Black Swallowtail Cat.

It may be hard to believe but we still have a few (about 10) of these beautiful butterfly caterpillars munching away on the dill and parsley.  Thankfully the weather is supposed to be fairly nice for the next week.  But I'm hoping that they all have time to grow large enough to pupate.  

We have lots of swallowtail chrysalids in two butterfly enclosures that we will overwinter in our sunroom ... which isn't heated during the cold months. It's best to keep them in a cold environment or else we might get an unwanted Christmas gift!
