Drivers Eye View

This is what the driver of the Flying Scotsman sees when he is sat in his/her seat.  The locomotive has been hosted by the Mid Norfolk Railway at Dereham and is there until Saturday. It is a magnificent piece of  engineering although much of it is not original; it undergoes a full restoration and servicing every ten years or so

I overheard someone ask what time it was leaving on Sunday and he said he was not sure, but he thought between 2 and 3 am, yes that is AM!  The reason for departing that early is so it can de-conflict with all the regular rail traffic.  It is apparently heading for Carnforth in the North of England.
