BEAM ME UP SCOTTY

This photo seems so appropriate for today.

Another great day today.   We went to Dalemain Historic House, home of the famous World's famous marmalade awards.  We had booked for the guided tour as that is the only way to view the house at the moment.

We started off with coffee and cake in the tea rooms.  Which since covid have been moved into a very old but large barn.  They did this because it was so much larger and they could space out the tables better.

After the tour we stayed for soup and then decided to walk to the village of Dacre, still on the Dalemain estate.  Saw a lot of fallow deer as there is a deer park there, lots of sheep and some cows.  

On the way we went past Dacre Castle.  It's really a pele tower and is privately owned and occupied so not open to the public but you can see it and go right past it.

We then stopped in the tiny village and visited the beautiful little St Andrew's Church and saw the locally famous Dacre bears.  Really they are very worn headstones that are believed to be Roman and originally shaped like lions.  

After this we then drove on past Ullswater, with a stop for me at my usual place of Glencoyne Bay to take a few photos.  I went to an unintended paddle as I stepped out to a little pebble island but the water around it was a bit wider than I first thought - ah well it's only water.

Then on up The Kirkstone Pass.  At the top I saw this light and shouted (um I mean requested) Hubby to stop so I coud jump out and take a photo.  

Of course it felt so appropriate today because William Shatner, aka Captain Kirk, actually Boldy Went into real space - he must have been trying to beam Spock or Scotty up too, don't you think??

That's it for now.  Didn't get home until 5.00pm.  So quickly developed a couple of photos and now have to go and get ready to go out to Thyme Out for a Greek evening.

Whilst we were out on our walk my Sister-in-Law discovered her Facebook account had been hacked.  Now I haven't opened anything and am not going to, however do be warned that there is another hack going around so if anyone sends you any emails or FB messags saying '"you are likely to be in the video" DO NOT OPEN it is a scam.
