Malin Bridge

Today's the day .................... to go east

We left Fanad today and ended up at Malin Head - maybe ten miles to the northeast as the crow flies.  But because of the contortions of the Inishowen coastline - it took us several hours and about 80 miles of driving to get there.

It was, however, a journey through beautiful and varied scenery that brought us something to marvel at round every corner.  Above is the bridge across Trawbreaga Bay just before Malin.  It's a ten-arched stone bridge dating from the 1780s, replacing an earlier wooden one destroyed by a storm in 1757.

Tomorrow is our last day before we have to head home.  Will has been spoilt for choice as to subject matter for his paintings all week!  You can catch up with what he's been doing here . . . . . . . .
