Thinking ahead

The Ards Man studying the map to plan next year’s outings! Not a chart, but a driving map, as he wanted to see ‘the lie of the land’ as well.

We didn’t get to investigate as much of the Clyde as we would have liked this year; time caught up with us, I think. We haven’t been up Loch Long and onwards into Loch Goil, as we had intended to visit Carrick Castle.

It’s also lovely to sail up Loch Fyne, although we’ve only been as far as Strachur. Maybe we can get away in May next year if the weather allows. We need a couple of days of settled weather just to get across the Irish Sea. At least, I need settled weather; the AM doesn’t mind sailing along in a bit of a blow.

It was good to be over on the boat today. We were in Bangor to get our ‘flu jabs, so ventured on down to the marina. The sea is lovely and smooth, although the sky is quite cloudy.

I think we’ll just be having our coffee while alongside the pontoon!
