Oblique Longhorn Bee

Maybe I've seen this bee before and just called it a 'Honey Bee', but this morning I took a closer look...this is an Oblique Longhorn bee, Svastra oblique, sometimes called the 'Sunflower Bee'. Native to Central and North America, it's a rather handsome bee, as bees go! I love those pollen 'packs'! As I stood close to a large patch of Swamp Sunflowers, a native Sunflower here in Florida, the buzzing sound of the bees enjoying the bright yellow flowers was surprisingly loud. My across-the-street neighbor has a wild yard too and the Swamp Sunflowers have spread all over in the most sunny spots! They're quite impressive!
