Home at last

Up at 6, quick shower, packed the car, tea and porridge and on the road just after 7 as the first light was breaking through light cloud. A fine young red deer stag in the road saw us off on our journey home.
The dawn broke as we drove through the highlands. Sad to leave but ready too to return.
Hanne Lene drove is all the way to Dunkeld - a fine if rather self conscious town - where we had a really good brunch at the Scottish Deli, definitely the place to eat if you’re ever up that way! - and I spent a few minutes by the glorious River Tay in sunshine before we drove on ( my turn to get us through Glasgow and on to Gretna.
Finally home just before 10 pm, greeted by our dear cat Billy, finding our home in very good shape thanks to our friend N. who was house sitting while we were away. Lots of small things to sort out as there always are when you come home...but trying to let it be and sort it out over the next few days! Good to be back.
